- I am a Social Worker and Teacher but I have been a radio DJ and a whole host of other things! For the past 15 years I’ve been working in the area of mental health, supporting, counselling and helping those in need. The thing with mental health issues is that it reaches far and wide. This is the reason why I formed the Association For Better Mental Health. The internet has made it possible to link people from all around the world. The Association does just that. It is able to link like minded people - people interested in mental health issues, together. People join the Association for a number of reasons. Some join for the support they receive from others. That feeling of not being alone. Others join to contribute to the mental health debate - how to improve services; what else needs to be done; discussing exciting new research and advances both from mainstream and alternative avenues. Some contribute articles and are proactive in raising awareness on issues passionate to them. By joining the Association our profile grows and our presence is felt more strongly world wide. Personally: I am married to Julie, I have a son who is 24 and two step children, 18 and 14, 2 dogs and a cat!
